MINUTES OF SELECTMEN’S MEETING
January 16, 2008
1. The meeting was called to order by Mark at 7:00p.m. Tom and Hal were present.
2. A. On a motion by Hal, 2nd by Mark, ALL voted to accept the minutes from December19, 2007 regular Board meeting as amended (line #2 changed from $2000 to $1200).
B.On a motion by Tom, 2nd by Hal, ALL voted to sign Warrant #10 town's bills.
3. A. On a motion by Hal, 2nd by Tom, ALL voted to accept the resignation of Gerry Robinson from the Finance Committee and that Quentin Henderson move up to the position from alternate. Also, Sandy Ouellette was appointed to the committee for a 5-year term (1/16/08-6/1/13) to fill the vacancy left by Bob Kane's passing.
4.. On request by Mark Cyr, Board Chairman, the Chairperson of the Finance Committee, Joanie Jacobs was asked to contact all department heads to cut their budget requests by 5% in preparation for Fiscal '09 to keep the town's operating budget under LD-1.
5. Update on the timber harvest from Bill Newcombe-On a motion by Tom, 2nd by Hal, ALL voted to have Heniger trails harvest completed by June 1, 2008.
6. On a motion by Hal, 2nd by Mark, ALL voted to accept the request made by Frank Blauvelt on behalf of the Otisfield Fire Department's unanimous recommendation to elect R. Michael Hooker as Fire Chief for the Town of Otisfield for a term of one year.
7. On a motion by Tom, 2nd by Hal, ALL voted to instill a fine for any violation regarding an "After-the-fact Building Permit," to be 3x's the permit fee and up to $100/per day from the date of notification. (This was in response to the survey information of surrounding town's fees provided by our C.E.O., Richard St. John).The Board requests Richard St. John to bring his fee schedule to them for review.
8. On a motion by Hal, 2nd by Tom, ALL voted to accept the nomination of Dan Peaco as town Sexton.
9. On a motion by Tom 2nd by Hal, ALL voted to accept the snowplowing contract between the Town of Otisfield and Glenn Pastore to plow roads this winter.
10. Motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:50 P.M. by Tom, 2nd by Mark, ALL voted to accept.
